Somewhere in beautiful Somalia, the heart of Puntland, lays a treasure: Luban in which the quality is the best as you have never seen before. Indeed, luban from Puntland is known to be among the best in the world.
The name « Puntland » is derived from the Land of Punt, and is mentioned in ancient Egyptian sources: It was an Egyptian trading partner known for fine aromatic resins such as frankincense and myrrh.
Description
Luban, the Arabic name of frankincense, is an aromatic resin cherished for its ability to purify and perfume the air with its fresh scent. Somali Luban, in particular, showcases a unique olfactory profile that is simultaneously spicy and fresh, intertwined with invigorating notes of lemon. This distinct fragrance composition sets Luban Somali apart, making it a sought-after treasure for connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
How to use
Light up a charcoal and place it in an incense burner.
Then put a little piece of frankincense onto the hot coal and let it perfume the room. You can also make a fumigation, perfuming yourself and your clothes with it; to do that just take the bakhoor burner next to you for 30 to 60 seconds.
Expert Tip
Using a mica plate is very useful to avoid the resin burning too fast, simply place one plate between the coal and the piece of luban for an optimal experience.
You can also consider using the frankincense as a sublime base for creating simple yet sophisticated incense blends. Here is a simple yet profound tip: enriching it with a drop of attar. This small act transforms the incense, elevating its aromatic profile and filling your space with a beautiful scent.
